I offer training and support in the nuts and bolts of designing, building, hosting and maintaining a web site. If you want me to maintain your site for you I'll be glad to. However, if you want to learn how to maintain your site yourself or delegate a member of staff to work on it, I'll be happy to offer one to one training, along with a handy reference pack to refer to. |
I am well versed in industry standard design aids and can give advice and tuition in these. For the web I am experienced with Dreamweaver, (Macromedia's web site building tool which supports spell checking,) GoLive (Adobe's web site building tool) and Flash (which, if used properly, creates rapidly appearing interactive animations such as navigation bars). There are of course the excellent Apple Works suite and Microsoft's Works and Office XP. Photoshop (which can be used to create and edit pictures and designs) is the indispensable tool for both web and print. |

I prefer a culture of shared
knowledge and skills rather than one of experts who preserve the mysteries
of IT and computing for themselves. Each time I set out to learn a new application
or computing skill (I've just started to learn Perl!) I have to pass a threshold
of pain and frustration. I monitor what aids or impairs my understanding
of something - especially those "Eureka" moments when the penny
drops into the back of my aging skull. When I share my understanding with
someone else, my aim is to map out that learning logically and to help bypass
difficulties and misunderstandings which blocked my path. |
If
you are looking to maintain your site for yourself, and
want to learn how to maintain it, or delegate a member of staff to work
on it, I'll be happy to offer one to one training as part of the development
package. I'll also include a handy reference guide, with instructions based
on your own site including:
