You will want your web
site to be attractive to your audience, to give them the information
that they expect, and to be easy to navigate around.
You will probably want them to be able to load it into their
browser software quickly, and you may require it to meet high
standards for accessibility. Some of these needs are part of
the design of the site, and some of them are aspects of the
architecture and logic underpinning the construction of the
site, which I will touch on on the building page. Some aspects
of design are clearly visible, some are hidden. |

Visitors to your site will see
design aspects which incorporate your current visual identity,
background colours, size and colour of type faces, and the balance
between text and picture. I will work with you to get the visual
balance that reflects your organisation and your audience. You
will want the site to set the right tone of professionalism
for you, and to be properly checked for elements which undermine
this such as tpying mistakrs. |

I am well versed in industry
standard design aids including
Dreamweaver, (a website building tool which supports spell
checking,) Flash,
(which, if used properly, creates rapidly appearing interactive
animations such as navigation bars,) and Photoshop
(which can be used to create and edit pictures and designs,
such as those you see on this site). What this means to you,
is that I can build and design sites swiftly and cost effectively.
My degree is in English, so I can (if required) give guidance
in good web copy and good, plain English. |

Finally, I have developed
my own methods of the hidden art of designing pages so
that they appear swiflty in people's browsers. I create
them out of components which are easy to change and maintain.
You can see examples of this, if you visit the portfolio
page, and indeed throughout this site, where, I have varied
design motifs and layouts to balance a unified look with
variety. |
